A Spanish MEP doesn't believe an independent Scotland would be blocked from joining the EU, but insists it would take years.

The Scottish Government's proposed an 18 month timetable for negotiations if there's a yes vote in next week's referendum.

Pablo Zalba is a member of Partido Popular, the party currently in government in Spain.

He doesn't think a Scottish application would be rejected, but thinks it would take years, rather than months, to be completed.
